T2: The Puma Prowls: 28 June 1944: Outskirts of Lepel, Belarus, Russia

History: During the destruction of Army Group Center the German front became pierced at many points. As the battlefield
situation became more fluid, reliable information was of crucial importance to both sides. In the midst of the fighting
an unusual clash occurred on the outskirts of Lepel -- unusual in that both recon forces were commanded by seasoned,
aggressive leaders.

German: PSW 234/2
Russian: T-70

Maps: Two Maps: 4 and 22.

Terrain: Rural/Village, stream, grain.

Scenario Length: 6 Game Turns

Victory objective: Side with most points wins. One point per AFV destroyed.
Two points for each Russian AFV exit off top of board. Two points for each German AFV exit off bottom of board.

Set Up: Germans enter Turn one via HEX: [0,0]. Russians enter Turn one via HEX: [19,32].
Note: Russian AFV receive only half of normal MP on Turn 1. This can not be enforced on the game AI.

Aftermath: Although the primary responsibility of both groups was to avoid contact and obtain battlefield intelligence,
the aggressive nature of both commanders prevailed. A vicious firefight ensued, and in the end the superior mobility
and rapid firepower of the German vehicles prevailed; though not without significant loss to themselves.

Source scenario is ASL Scenario T2 in The General, Vol.24, No.2.
The TOTH AI has difficulty strategizing the "double exit" victory conditions. Best play experience is hotseat.
I cleared some of the vegetation around the Russian entry on the lower right -- the T-70's get bogged a fair bit.
This scenario is highly regarded for teaching ASL to newcomers.
